Twenty-five years ago, on 11 September 2001, the world witnessed one of the defining tragedies of the modern era. The attacks in the United States claimed thousands of lives, devastated families and communities, and had consequences that reached far beyond the places directly affected.

As a new academic year begins, the TCD Law Student Colloquium would like to extend a very warm welcome to everyone joining Trinity College Dublin for the first time, as well as to all returning students.

First of all, thank you all so much for your support. Today was certainly not an easy day for us. It was difficult and challenging, but we got through it  and we continue to move forward, confidently and with determination. We truly appreciate everyone who stood by us.

As we begin preparations for the upcoming academic year, we would like to invite students and members of the wider TCD Law community to join us for an opportunity to hear directly from the Committee about our plans and priorities for the year ahead.

We are delighted to launch Academia+, a new initiative by the TCD Law Student Colloquium providing a platform for students, researchers, academics and legal professionals to share their scholarly work.

We are delighted to announce to our community that TCD Law Student Colloquium is beginning an active transition towards a bilingual Irish–English model.

The Colloquium is clear on an important point that John F. Manderscheid has repeatedly omitted from his public presentation of this matter: our Chairman is depicted in the photographs in question.

Deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Glen Hansard. His music was honest, raw, and full of heart. From the early days with The Frames, to The Swell Season, to the unforgettable Once songs like Falling Slowly, When Your Mind’s Made Up, and High Hope spoke of courage, of the strength to keep going, and of never giving up when the road gets hard.
